eBenk LANC Remote - it actually works May 10, 2009

eBenk Universal LANC Zoom Remote Handle for Tripods I needed a zoom controller to attach to another device ordered at the same time-- a Cam Caddie Camera Stabilizer. CAM CADDIE CAMERA STABILIZER The extremely low price of this item nearly scared me away, but I decided to take a chance. I'm glad I did, because while is isn't a Manfrotto or Vari-Zoom, it does the job, at an eighth of the price, mounted to the handle of a device used only on occasion. If I needed to mount it on a tripod handle, I could do that just as easily. Reliability is something I can't predict, but for now... it works. And I'm happy.

Works with Canon HFS200 & probably all the Canons May 08, 2011
By Jeff Aski Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/RGLCWFGAL9HLL Sometimes the included remote of these camcorders don't work unless you're pointing it right in front of the camera. This is why you need devices like this eBenk Remote. On the Canon HFS200 and probably all the other Canon camcorders that have a LANC port -- The Zoom, on/off, record/stop, and photo buttons work. The other smaller buttons do not. Make sure you're in photo mode for the photo button to work, though, as you will see in my video.

Don't Let the Low Price Fool You - It's Great May 13, 2009

When I looked at the price of other LANC controllers, I was amazed at this low price. Worst case, I'd have an affordable backup so I bought it. Wow, was I surprised. I'm using it with my Sony HVR-A1U and Tiffen sticks and it works great!

cheap lanc Remote Dec 11, 2008
By trippkatt This is a cheap lanc remote that is surprisingly good. I'm using it on a sony dcr-sr100 camcorder. I use it for smooth zooms for sporting events and it works great. There are two cons I will mention. The rocker makes some noise when pushed but when you get used to it you can limit the clicks. The tripod clip isn't the most secure but it's good enough to get the job done. I have used to regularly for 3 months with no problems. This is by far the cheaps lanc controller with variable zoom control by $100.

Very happy with the product... Dec 24, 2009
By J. Tutka I'm Very happy with the product for the price!. Got this controller in 3 days from the date of purchase. I'm using it for Sony DCR-TRV-25. Two notes: 1) would be nice if the zoom rocker had the option of speed control build in, in addition to the hard-set one - I'm happy with what it has, I can do some nice and steady zooms. 2) the rocker has a rather loud click when engaged, but I added some very thin foam (about ¼") underneath the rocker switch - (to do this you need to open up the unit, 3 screws, one at the back and two on the top front under the label). ....Two months later... Just completed a new project, the rocker (with the foam pad) performs excellent! and with a little practice, the speed can be managed with no problem. I'm still very satisfied with this product.
