5A SIGNIFICANT WORK...  Nov 28, 2004 By Student of Design
³THE VISIONARY PACKAGE, a book by Richard Gerstman and Herbert Meyers--two

important figures in the package design world‹is an extremely informative

and well-written account of the history of packaging design and concepts.

Even more significantly, it¹s a personal account of the marketing and design

challenges that these partners and others encountered over the years and

their responses to those challenges.    It is unique in that it is written

for the industry professional as well as the total novice who knows nothing

more about packaging than what they see on their grocer¹s shelves.    I

enjoyed it tremendously and would also imagine it to be a natural text for

all students of packaging and design.²
