One of My Favorite Books Sep 21, 2010
By LSchaaf I love this book, and recommend it to everyone who is starting a photography business, whether home-based, location-only, or studio-based. It has some great advice that sometimes goes against all the photographic marketing gurus, but I think it's much more realistic in pricing and marketing than some of the other stuff out there! My favorite tidbit? Your goal as a new photographer should be shoot your first 100 clients, paid, free, however you do it, that should be your goal for experience! It's so true!

Excellent Book for the Aspiring Photographer Feb 08, 2012
By Gregory E. Kane Don't look for any pictures in this book, just plenty of solid basic information. However, do be cautious of the pricing the author does in the book as the prices that you set will vary based on location. There is a lot of reading here, but the information is spot on. We have had a studio going this time for 9 years, and almost without fail we were able to use the book to look back and see the little areas where we went off the track. I have been a professional photographer for 43 years and this is the best start-up book out there.
