5Everything you need to know to do Sports PR  Jul 10, 2007 By DAR
As far as I know this is the only book that focuses on Sports PR specifically and it's worth every penny of it. Joe Favorito was head of PR for a bunch of big name sports organizations (Knicks, 76ers, WTA) and collegiate sports programs. If you're looking for a sports PR training camp, this is the place to start. I've worked in PR and lots of what he says is just good practice, but the way he contextualizes it is invaluable and the anecdotes are fantastic. His case studies are mostly US-focused, but the principles apply internationally and he does a good job covering the global market which is growing exponentially. This is top of the league for anyone interested in specializing in sports PR. A real home run.

5Not just a great PR primer, a great read  Aug 15, 2007 By G. Milani
Tons of great stories enhance the strong points made in the best PR primer of its kind. The author has worked in all different environments (college, professional sports teams, agencies), so there's something here for every PR pro.

5A Pro's Pro in PR  Aug 14, 2007 By T. Caraccioli
Having worked with Joe during his tenure at the USTA, I have firsthand knowledge of his professionalism to the craft of PR. His "practical approach" to sports publicity should be required reading in every sports management program across the country. His book is a keeper and should be on every sports PR executive's bookshelf.

5One Great Book  Jul 29, 2007 By Vernon Cheek
I've never, in all my years seen a book geared specifically towards sports PR. There are a number of books I've read that have touched on the subject, but never has a book been as clear and concise as this one. I would recommend this book for students as well as seasoned PR professionals. The examples are clear and to the point and the knowledge all comes from a man who has worked and developed detailed PR programs for professional teams and individual sports. You can't go wrong with this book.

5Must read  Jul 19, 2007 By M. Garber
Great advice and information from someone who has been around the industry for a long time. Very practical.
