They say that every Texan has two hometowns: his own and San Antonio. My father brought his family to San Antonio in 1955, and at sixteen I found a true home there. I am the eldest child, so I never stayed in San Antonio for very long, but I would keep coming back to S.A. This book is food for the heart of the exile. Every photograph is enough to make one sigh for the city that Will Rogers said "has something no Chamber of Commerce can destroy." O. Henry said, "Owlish, polyglot San Antonio." I love this book and I love that city.

Great pictures of old buildings which are no longer here. Pictures give the reader history of San Antonio scenes many years ago, replacing buildings with the "progress" of our growing city.

The photography captures highlights of the city. It's a great coffee table book and I buy in bulk to give to family and friends who are visiting and/or moving away from San Antonio.

This book is fabulous! I bought it as a housewarming gift and it's received such great Kudos! Everyone asks where I got it from. I even gave a copy to my husband, who hates to read, and he read this from cover to cover! The pictures are amazing, it definitely gives you a sense of then and now. ~A
