5My Bible for Job Interviews!  Sep 02, 2009
I first purchased this book back in 2004 when I was preparing for a dream job interview that would be a big stretch to obtain. I poured myself into this book and completed a number of the exercises. It is a fantastic guide to prepare you for behavior based interviews, which I knew would be the type I would be facing (and the type I really struggled with in the past). I ended up nailing the interview and getting the job over another candidate who had more experience and credentials than I did. I really studied for the interview and utilized the techniques used in this book. After I started the job, my new boss often refered to my interview when conversing with colleagues and others in our industry about how I "made her hire me," and how she could tell I really wanted the job. This book prepares you by getting you to outline your accomplishments, it teaches you to prepare vivid stories to share quick examples of demonstrated skills and behaviors, how to answer difficult questions and how to set your interview agenda. I really owe this book to the fact I got that job, which has taken me very far in my career since then.

I recently began a new job search and used this book again. Although some aspects of it are now outdated with the evolution of the internet and social media, the majority of it is still extremely relevant and helpful. I would love to see a new version published, but until then, I'm still going to stick with this one. I did get that last job too! I highly recommend.

5Since this book I've received an offer for every interview I've been on!  May 14, 2009
I'm not even kidding, after meeting with a career counselor who reccomended this book it helped me so much I've received a job offer after every interview I've been on since. That is 4 so far. I recommend this book all the time. It actually helped change my life although it sounds corny, its the only book I can say that about.

5A find!  Aug 09, 2005
With the hundreds of books I poured through at the library. This one is a hand holding, step by step guide that shows you how to talk, (relate your accomplishments as a story -people remember stories-have hooks to the stories). It helps you realize how to "sell yourself through accomplishments", and ways to show how you will benefit the organization (which is after all why they are hiring). It also gives indepth advice on attitude and personality, avoiding negative questions and salary negotiations. Complete and concrete advice. -An investment in your future.

5Excellent tool for job seeker  Sep 30, 2004
As for a new graduate, I blew out my first several interviews. People keep telling me it's normal and that's how you learn the expereince. When asking their advice, they said you can't predict the question they're going to ask you, so just relax and try your best. Well...that's only half true and not help me too much to get the job. I am glad that I stopped lying to myself, finding excuses not to prepare interviews and bought this book. I bought five interview reference books and this is the best one among all. It helps you build up your confidence and really let you feel you're going to A's all the questions during the interview, which is true. It's the tool that helps you not only prepare the interview but also negotiate salary. (plus research organization) I followed all the steps and got the offer right away. (Amazing! too soon to believe) And also increased 3,000 more on my starting salary. (I know I can gain more according to the instruction in the book, but I am satisfied with the result since this is my first job.) This is the first time I write review for a book. To express the appreciation to the author, I do recommend all the job seeker, no matter you are new graduate or expereinced, to read this book. The book covers all aspects. Good luck!! (This is also important. =))
