5A big FYI:  Apr 18, 2010 By Ray
This is a great reference book. But so as to not cause any confusion, this is NOT an instructional guide on how to draw and design cars. It is rather a reference guide filled with info and facts that you should keep in mind when designing cars. If you are looking for a book that has step by step instructions on how to draw cars and perspective, this is not the book you are looking for. If you are already a car designer or a car design student, and want a handy and well thought out reference guide, this is the book for you.

5A great all-round image of automotive design  Jun 08, 2009 By Ascanio Colonna di Paliano "Ascanio Colonna"
This book could be named "automotive design 101": it obviously is a textbook from the Transportation Design undergraduate course at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena.

It does lack some edge on the imagery (and must be corrected with updated EC regulations), but does provide an invaluable insight on the automotive design industry.

This is definitely a "how did I live without it" item, and every designer should have it on their bookshelf!

5The life buoy  Jun 14, 2009 By Chiu Kwun Yu "Enzo Chiu"
I'm a graphic and industrail designer in Hong Kong
thank you art center, there is lack of information about car design in the world
the book data is extreme professional
if the book include a DVD of digital H point data and image, it must be much better, I don't mind to pay more

i hope car design 101 will be released soon, I',m looking forward

5Just what I needed  Apr 10, 2009 By N. Walls
I'm not a professional car designer, but I like drawing and designing cars. I've seen plenty of books, tutorials, etc. about drawing cars, but this is the first resource I've found that covers packaging. There are tons of very useful illustrations, and I learn something new with every paragraph. I'm only on chapter 2 and it's proven to be invaluable.

If you just want to draw cars, this will be no help to you. However if you want to design cars, you need this book.

5Excellent book for understanding automotive packaging  Aug 21, 2010 By P. Higgins
This book covers all the automotive packaging requirements.
It is an excellent guide going through the stages of vehicle engineering.
With precise definitions and very good illustrations. This will give the engineering students a good grounding.
Even for the established engineer it gives a nice refresher course.

Well worth the purchase.
