5Beats Photo Shop Elements and Gimp  Jun 27, 2009 By Silvio Rodriguez
I'm a PC user and have used PhotoShop CS2 and PhotoShop Elements and find them really hard to use. The controls are very small and hard to find, everything is iconic with no description available. You have to read a book to find out what each icon means.

Also PhotoShop is overpriced (USD $1000 for the Ultra version) so I have been using Gimp for photo editing. But Corel DRAW and Corel Photo Paint beat them both in the Price/Performance ratio. Its way more intuitive to use than both Gimp and PhotoShop (at least for a PC user). Tools are easy to find, without reading any manual I got myself doing masks, color adjustments, etc. The digital filter gallery in PhotoShop is more professional, as if the algorithms yielded a smother quality and surely there are tons of plugin filters out there. But for the price, Corel DRAW gives professional photo editing (unlike Gimp) at a bargain price.

5Performance Plus at a great Price!  Dec 16, 2009 By Sapphire
I am so thankful Corel came out with a Home and Student Edition! I have used Adobe products as well as the Corel line for years. I have to say that Corel outperforms Adobe in many ways. The interface is more intuitive than it has ever been. My favorite feature is the ability to easily create vectors from bitmap drawings within CorelDraw. The program remains user friendly as well; it comes with an array of customizable "cool tools" to draw, sketch spray paint, etc.

The software has just as much if not more to offer in my opinion than Adobe Photoshop and it costs a fraction of what Adobe is offering.

5CorelDraw X4 Home and Student  Apr 16, 2010 By Michael Rhodes
This is a great product for less than 1/3 the cost of the full version. Especially since you can put it on three computers. It doesn't have all the graphics and clip art of the full version, but has enough to learn with. Great product and a great price. Highly recommended.

5Excellent video tutorials.  Mar 28, 2010 By G. Freeman
I used CorelDRAW years ago (version 3), so knew the basics and was able to lay out my new minicomic fairly easily. I found the video tutorials on the DVD to be very well done, and I highly recommend them. I am still learning the PhotoPaint application that came bundled with CorelDRAW, but so far I like it and anticipate it replacing the current program (that came with my scanner) I am using.

4No brainer 3 licenses!  Dec 08, 2009 By Alan Edwards
We have been using Corel Draw since version 6, and have upgraded every few years since.

Easy to learn and use.

X4 student and teacher edition features a three license agreement, so it was a no brainer for us with three PC'S at home. (X3 didn't have this)
