A straight-forward, no-frills guidebook for people who are starting their own computer business Nov 17, 2008
By Matthew Rodela
"Your Friendly Neighborhood Computer Guy"
Computer Repair Business Lessons Learned gets very specific and keeps things short and to the point. This is a good thing, as people who read books about starting a computer business normally are not interested in being entertained, they're interested in hard facts and practical advice. CBLL delivers this in spades. The book is chock full of useful information, going so far as to include examples of warranty agreements, service contracts, and business proposals.
The best thing about this book, however, is actually not the book itself, but the extra stuff that comes with it. Once you purchase the book, you receive a personal email from the author which gives you the location and password to an exclusive section of his website that offers sample documents, forms, and agreements that he's used in his computer business. This stuff is invaluable and is certainly the result of many years of hard work and trial and error. Not only that, but through that initial email the author makes himself available for correspondence in case you have any follow up questions about the book.
However, if you're looking for a polished and perfect publication in CBLL, look elsewhere. The non-nonsense tone of the book transcends the words on the page to cover the entire presentation of the book itself. It's bound together with metal ring binding and the pages are laid out and organized with all the flare of a college term paper. I also noticed quite a few typos along with a smattering of grammatical and spelling errors throughout the pages of CBLL. All of this gives the first impression of a cheap book that was assembled at home. These are all superficial fallacies and can be easily overlooked, but I wanted to make sure I mentioned them because I do feel they have an overall effect on the quality of the book. The price is also slightly higher than other similar books on the market, but this may be due to the extra online content that you are given access to, which is all very useful.
Computer Repair Business Lessons Learned hits all the major topics and events one might run into while starting and running a consulting or repair business. Although the look and organization of the book can be off-putting at first, the extra downloadable content and personal contact form the author make it well worth your time and money.

Excellent Book!! Apr 01, 2008
By J. Radcliff I have been thinking about starting my own computer business for quite a while now. I always had questions and couldn't find the answers, well this book answered my questions and more. The time the author invested into the included documents, such as a business plan and maintenance agreement, make this book much more valuable than the price paid. Great book!!
Great book Apr 21, 2011
By DaGint This is a great book for anyone thinking about getting into computer repair business. Offers some great advice, things to consider and avoid when starting this type of business. Gives great ideas on how to get running and get an understanding of what is needed to start a successful computer repair business. Offers sample documentation which is helpful, when starting this is a huge time saver. Instead of taking time to creating the documents from scratch you can use what they have proven to work for there business. Granted it will need some tweaking to make it your own but worth time it will save you.
The most helpful information provided after months of searching!! Feb 26, 2011
By sburnett First off, I received everything promptly. After opening the book I could not put it down. I have been looking for all of the information that's provided in this book for a long time. Why search all over the web when all of the info on starting and running a successful computer business is right in this book? Not only was the book very informative, but the documents provided saved me loads of time and writers block. After purchasing, I contacted the author regarding access to the downloadable content. He responded immediately with my user id and password to access the restricted area of the site. Thank you so much Dan, your a lifesaver!

Do not buy this book Mar 16, 2010
By William Dixon I would not even call this a book. The writing is bad, the advice generic, and the font is too large for this book. This "book" should be around 70 pages, but they lengthened the book with large font and poem type spacing. I was scammed out of 29.99.
